Atlanta rapper Future has been a part of hip-hop for some time, although he just caught his big break in 2011 with his project True Story. The “Magic” creator has been studying the game from behind the scenes. When it came time to show and prove, Future was ready and he never stopped proving himself.
With bangers like “Tony Montana” and “Ain’t No Way Around It,” he instantly earned a fanbase and began racking up on the featured appearances. Known for his catchy hook-writing Future has added his signature to tracks from artists like Lil Wayne, Ace Hood and Pusha T. His career may be just a few years old but Future has already planted seeds to ensure his longevity in hip-hop.
Rich Homie Quan
Rich Homie Quan is a member of the newest wave of rappers out of Atlanta. Depending on which circles you ask, Quan is a carbon copy of Future, down to his ad-libs. The young rapper does appear to be directly influenced by the Freebandz founder — his sing-songy cadence and delivery is remarkably similar, but Quan brings more to the table lyrically.
On songs like “Differences” and “Some Type of Way” from his recent mixtape Still Going In, Quan showcases his distintive style when compared to other youthful up-and-comers in his class.
Winner: Let’s call this one a draw.
